Summer Intensives

A fantastic few days giving our young dancers the opportunity to work their way back into dance fitness after some well earned rest. The dancers in Ballet Company are together in the studio for 8 hour days giving them time absorb detailed technical information, nutritional requirements and individual conditioning. Pointé, Pas de deux and Repertoire are always exciting and inspiring. We were fortunate enough to have Jasmine Ahwah once again taking Contemporary Classes and teaching the company Contemporary Choreography which was simply amazing and left our dancers very motivated wanting more and more however the body can only take so much. I am very proud of everyone of them, eight hours o

Summer Intensives

This week will mark the start of 2019. In our 35th Anniversary Year, Summer Intensives will begin on Wednesday with an 8 hour training day over 5 days. Long breaks are difficult for dancers who prefer stay fit. Tiffanie Hughes has been in a coaching class every day over the holidays preparing for her Work Placement with the Australian Ballet in 2019 and looking forward to the Summer Intensives. Jasmine Ahwah will return again this year to teach Contemporary classes and Billy Laherty will be home for a few weeks after completing his first 68 perfo

Holiday Classes

Holiday Classes - it sounds like the dancers come in to do an easy class while on holidays, however it is quite the opposite. Highly active, motivated people find it hard to keep still and when the dancers are given the chance to come into the studio for a ballet class during the holiday break they do have lots of energy and really want to work hard and extend themselves. Classes over the last two days have been nothing short of inspiring with each dancer physically demanding the best of themselves in extreme heat. They have challenged themselves physically and have taken in as much technical information as they possible constantly looking for improvement. Fans, swampy and sweat, loud music
